Yeah, I agree with you, Emma!! I really hope that they can figure something out so both Chad and Hilary will come back sometime in season 7, even if it's only for a few episodes.

Yeah, that would be aweful!! I don't get why all these people aren't coming back? Does Mark really want to end OTH on the most awefull way that's possible??? Does he really think that season 7 will be a hit when only a few people are left?? I don't get it anymore!!

Same here, its worrying, I dont want the show the end on a bad note, wouldn't it be better to end it with all the characters and have a really good finale? (one that matches the season 4 one?- because that was a brilliant episode) I would really love it if some other people came back though? Like maybe Karen/Lily/Andy? Or maybe Jake and Jenny..? Characters that fans care about?! I know that people like Jake are probably not possible though I'm still hoping that Chad and Hilarie can come to a negotiation or something!

Yeah, I know, same thing here! But maybe it indeed gives space for old/new characters to come (back). I guess we just have to wait and see how it goes on next year.

I hate that so many don't want to return, but some of them are just rumors right?? Things can change between now and next month when this season ends.

Yeah, I hope that things change! And even if they don't change in these few weeks that are left this season, maybe things will change when season 7 starts and the ratings are pretty bad! Maybe they will see than that they have to bring people back!

This is the source that I believe!!!!
Mark Schwann told what's up with the signing for next season and that Chad and Hilary haven't signed yet, but they are in negotiations.
Here is the video! It's really hard to follow, but I think that at the end, Mark says that he think it will be great... even when they don't sign?? Check it out:

This is the worst news ever... altho we knew it was coming... it just sucks to see it finally confirmed... Exclusive: Murray, Burton exit ‘One Tree Hill’ It looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton and Lucas are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night’s penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show’s seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its upfront presentation. Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn’t be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday’s season finale. To fill the void next season, a Hill insider tells me that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular. What say you, Tree Hill fans? Pumped for OTH 2.0? Too upset to even think about it? Source: OTH Blog

Oh no.. this is such bad news. I mean I did kind of expect it, but now its actually official its even more upsetting. My answer to the end question- too upset to even think about it I totally agree! Okay, we knew that there was a big change that they wouldn't come back, but to have it confirmed is aweful! I hoped that they might change their minds and resign after all, but I guess now they aren't. It's just so weird that a show will continue without 2 of the 3 characters where the show started to be about. I mean, the story of OTH started to be about Lucas/Nathan/Peyton and now Lucas and Peyton leave, so that's just weird and right now it feels not right!

I'm not really that upset because my personal opinion is that they should've left it at season 4. Yes, its nice to have a season 5 and 6 but they weren't really that good. The storylines have been quite weak and the actors have spent a long time doing the show. I'm sure they want to do something else now

Yeah, I get what you mean, altho I love season 6! And I think that you just pointed out why Chad and Hilary won't come back, because they want to do something else.

Here is an article that Amy from OneTreeHillBlog wrote about this whole situation.
OTH State of the Union It seems almost silly that a TV show has affected so many people so deeply but I don’t think many One Tree Hill fans can argue that this week’s news has weighed heavily on them. For some, they are excited. No more Leyton! No more whiny Peyton. No more squinty eyed Lucas! But I’m just not one of those. And neither are thousands of those that watch One Tree Hill.
Mark created Tree Hill around two brothers. And few could argue that it became centered around Lucas or even that it was about Lucas from the start. He was the underdog, the one people were fighting for. And there was Peyton, all broken and dark and twisty and Lucas was in love. He’d already been in love by the time we met him. And yes, Lucas loved Brooke and others along the way but Lucas and Peyton found their way to each other this season and finally Peyton Sawyer became Peyton Scott this week. And next week, we’ll meet their baby.
So in the midst of this story coming to its ultimate climax we get news that Lucas and Peyton are leaving Tree Hill and it’s no wonder it cut extra deep. Just when we got what we wanted, it seemed the rug was being pulled out from under us. Yes, I am so thankful that Mark gave the Leyton fans what we wanted. In the end, Lucas and Peyton are married with a family. I am really so grateful. We can be happy about that. Very happy.
But the heart is gone. The heart of the show. The guy that always did the right thing. The one that sacrificed himself for the ones he loved. The one that had to fight to reach his dreams. And the girl with the music and the art who finally learned that there was one person that wouldn’t leave her. The one person she could adore. And he adored her right back. And they’re both gone. They will live on somewhere beyond the sunset. But for those of us watching Tree Hill, they will be gone.
So we will grieve. We’ll be sad that Tree Hill will never be the same. We’ll be mad that it’s about money and personal choices. We’ll be hurt that it didn’t work out. But something deep inside will remind us that Mark did right by Lucas and Peyton. And that will give us hope. To know that Mark is the one that gave us Lucas and Peyton. He’s the one that gave us Tree Hill and Nathan and Haley and Brooke and the list goes on. Mark isn’t going to let us down. He’s the same one that created this and jumped four years and I have no doubt in my mind that Mark wouldn’t do this if he didn’t think it could work.
So that’s all I can give you guys right now. Don’t let your hope die. Remember that the same guy who gave us Lucas and Peyton and all of Tree Hill is still at the helm and he’s going to do everything he can to make this work.
So here’s to Tree Hill Hope!!
Much OTH Love,
amy
I actually have to agree with her and this gives me a whole other view on this and it gives me hope! What do you think about it??

[ALEXIS] 20s, gorgeous. Alexis is a model/actress and the new face of Brooke’s clothing line. Alexis is an adrenaline junkie and a bit of a diva who is used to getting her way. Book smart and street wise, Alexis uses her wiles to navigate the sometimes treacherous waters of her profession. She has also never met a party she didn’t like, a habit that may inhibit or accelerate her transition from model to actress, depending on who crosses her path sptv050769. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES...SERIES REGULAR.
[CLAYTON] Late 20s, handsome. A young and brash sports agent who represents Nathan Scott’s basketball interests, Clayton is a rising star at his agency and has become a close friend, ally, business partner and advisor to Nathan. I'm still so disappointed about Chad and Hilarie But these characters do sound okay so far, I guess time will tell
