Preview of CW:
Lucas: Dreams... they drive us.
...they inspire us.
...And ultimately... they define us.
Episode 501: 4 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days.
Lucas: Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday. We graduated high school, saying goodbye. That feeling that you get at seventeen or eighteen that nobody in the history of the world has ever been this close, has ever loved as fiercely or laughed as hard or cared as much. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday and sometimes it feels like someone else’s memory.
The Phone Call between Peyton and Brooke. Which is the closing voice over of this episode. And Peyton's first part is the voice over in the middle of the episode.
Peyton: Hi, it's Peyton. Yeah, I'm sorry. I know it's late there, I just... what happened to us? You know? I don't know who I am anymore. Or how I got here. I miss who I used to be. I wanna have a home again, ya know? And real friends. You know, the kind of friendships we used to believe in. I miss that. And I miss you. I guess I just miss all of it. Does any of that make any sense?
Brooke: Yeah, it makes all the sense in the world, Peyton. Four years ago, it all seemed so clear, didn't it? Conquer the world, save the world, live happily ever after.
Peyton: Are you happy, Brooke?
Brooke: Sometimes. Not always. Are you?
Peyton: No.
Brooke: Okay, then let me ask you something. What is gonna make you happy, Peyton? Is it how you look? Or the car you drive or the people you know? Is it money or celebrity or power or accomplishments? Because I have all those things and I don't think it's enough.
Peyton: Well then, what is?
Brooke: Love, I think. And that love can be for a boy or a girl or a place or a way of life or even for a family. But where you find it is up to you. So where are you gonna find that love, Peyton?
Peyton: I think I need to go home.
Brooke: Yeah. I was hoping you'd say that.
Episode 502: Racing Like A Pro
Lucas: My name is Lucas Scott. Four years ago I graduated high school with my friends. Brooke Davis moved to New York City and found success. Peyton Sawyer went to Los Angeles, success didn’t come so easily. I wrote a novel and fell for my editor, Lindsey. My brother Nathan saw his dreams vanish, leaving his wife Haley and their son Jaime more fragile than ever. Things have changed in four years, but in many ways this is just the beginning.
Haley: The rest of your life is a long time and whether you know it or not it's being shaped right now. You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate or bad luck or bad choices or you can fight back. Things aren't always going to be fair in the real world, that's just the way it is but for the most part you get what you give. Let me ask you all a question. What's worse not getting everything you wished for or getting it but finding out it's not enough? The rest of your life is being shaped right now with the dreams you chase, the choices you make and the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time and the rest of your life starts right now.
Episode 503: My Way Home is Through You
Lucas: My name is Lucas Scott. Four years ago, I graduated from high school with my friends. Brooke Davis went to New York City and found success...Peyton Sawyer went to Los Angeles. I wrote a novel and fell for my editor, Lindsey. Recently, we've come home. Now Brooke's opening a local boutique for her fashion line. Peyton Sawyer is starting her own record label. My best friend Haley started teaching...but it hasn't been easy. Nor has it been easy for her husband, Nathan, who in a moment of anger watched his dream of playing professional basketball vanish. A lot has changed since high school...but in many ways, our journey is just beginning.
Episode 504: It's alright Ma (I'm only Bleeding)
Lucas: My name is Lucas Scott. Four years ago I graduated from high school with my friends and we all went our separate ways. Recently we've all come home. My ex-girlfriend, Peyton, is starting a new record label and she's also getting to know my girlfriend Lindsey... sort of. Haley just hired a nanny, for her son Jamie, because her husband Nathan has been in a wheelchair but now seems to be recovering in more ways than one. Mouth started a job and other things with his new boss Alice. Brooke opened a local store for her fashion line but she also found that sometimes your problems follow you home. Like I said we're all home now, maybe hoping that the things we were looking for, were here in Tree Hill all along.
Much as some of us fight it, our parents have a mystical hold over us, the power to affect our thoughts and emotions the way only they can. It's a bond that changes over time, but doesn't diminish, even if they're half a world away, or in another world entirely.
It's a power we never fully understand. We're left only to wonder that when our time comes, what kind of hold will we have on our children?
Episode 508: Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
Lucas: Suddenly it was as if the roar of the crowd, and the cheers of my team mates were all sounding from a thousand miles away, and what remained in that bizzare muffled silence was only Peyton, the girl whose art and passion and beauty had changed my life. In that moment, my triumph was not a state championship but simple clarity, the realization that we'd always been meant for each other and every instinct to the contrary had simply been a denial of the following truth: I was now and always would be in love with Peyton Sawyer.
Peyton: Dear Molly, this is gonna sound a little strange but I'd like you to paint over my old closet door. The thing is there is never a time when you will be more honest, and your convictions will be stronger, and your motives will be more pure than they are right now. Which means you should chase whatever excites you. Be confident, and take risks, and paint over my words so you can start writing your own. My story may have inspired you, but I'm certain your story will inspire the next girl to live in our room. I want you to know you don't need somebody to write about you in order for your life to mean something. You can write about yourself… make your own destiny. Then years from now the next girl will keep what you write on that door long enough to remind you how inspired your life is. And you can tell that girl to paint over the door because you realize the words you wrote, the friends you had, the urgency you felt will always be there under the paint. The love you professed will always be there, the spark of something undeniable, a seed of hope, the truth for better or for worse burning fiercely just below the surface. Love Peyton.
Episode 509: For Tonight You're Only Here To Know
Mouth: Take a look at this picture. What do you see? There's a high school basketball game tonight somewhere in America,
and there's a great story there. Sometimes,to find it,you have to look away...into the shadows,on the fringe of the obvious.
can you see it? Look closer.
There was a high school basketball game tonight somewhere in America. A team won,and a team lost. That's not the real story. The real story is about fathers and sons. It's about life and time. Girls and boys went to the game. They dressed and hoped to fit in. Some did. Some didn't. It's a story that has history and chapters yet to be written. There was a high school basketball game tonight somewhere in America. Reporters will report. They'll tell you who the high scorer was and what the keys to the game were. But that's not the real story. As a matter of fact, that's not the story at all.
Episode 511: You're gonna need someone on your side
Lucas: Albert Camus once wrote, "Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken."
Lucas: Albert Camus once wrote, "Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken." But I wonder if there's no breaking then there's no healing, and if there's no healing then there's no learning. And if there's no learning then there's no struggle. But struggle is a part of life. So must all hearts be broken?"
Episode 512: Hunderd
Lucas: When I was a boy, my family took me on a trip, my family took me on a trip, we didn't go to any exotic place, we didn't go anywhere glamorous, we just drove.
Jamie: Where did you go Uncle Lucas?
Lucas: We drove the back roads of Tree Hill, and we saw all kinds of wonderful things.
Jamie: But where were you going?
Lucas: Everywhere. Anywhere. But where we ended up really wasn't the point, it was the things we saw, and the people we met along the way.
Jamie: Who was with you?
Lucas: It was just my mom, my uncle and me.
Jamie: Where was your daddy?
Lucas: He wasn't there. But something happened that day, something magical.
Jamie: What was it? What happened
Lucas: My uncle let me drive.
Jamie: Were you scared?
Lucas: No, I mean, the truth is I'm not sure I ever felt safer. That day, in that car, with my uncle, and my mom, is one of the best days of my life, just like today.
Episode 513: Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace
Peyton: Make a wish and place it in your heart. Anything you want, everything you want.
Lucas: Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle is gonna come from, the next smile, the next wish come true.
Peyton: But if you believe that it's right around the corner, and you open your heart and mind to possibility of it, to the certainty of it.
Brooke: You just might get the thing you're wishing for.
Nathan: The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it?
Haley: Good. Now believe in it, with all your heart...
Episode 514: What Do You Go Home To?
Lucas: Lindsey. She's the first thing I think about every day. "How is she? Does she miss me like I miss her? How do I get her back?" And then another day without her begins.
Peyton: Lucas.
Jamie: Chester.
Brooke: Brooke. Oh my God, I've to pi.
Skills: What day is it? What time is it? What the hell did I drink last night?
Marvin: Mmm, Millicent...You smell so good. I have to go to work. Sure, I guess I can be a little late. "What do you mean I'm fired? I wasn't even that late!" How am I gonna pay my rent? "Would you like fries with that, sir?"
Haley: Jamie
Nathan: Jamie. God, my girl is hot.
Haley: Morning.
Nathan: Morning.
(When they are about to kiss, Jaime's foot pops up)
Nathan: You know, I'm hungry this morning.
Haley: I am starving.
(Shot fired)
Dan: Keith...
Dan: KEITH.
Dan: It's said that the saddest thing a man will ever face is what might have been... but what if the man who's faced with what was... or what may never be... or what can no longer be... choosing the right path is never easy, it's a decision we make with only our hearts to guide us... but sometimes we find our way to something better... sometimes we fight through the regret and remorse of our mistakes, our malice and our jealousy, and the shame we feel for not being the people we were meant to be... and that's when we find our way to something better... or when something better finds its way to us.
Episode 515: Life is Short
Lucas: "Sometimes when your young, you think nothing can hurt you, its like being invinsible. Your whole life is ahead of you and you have big plans, BIG plans. To find your perfect match, the one that cocmpletes you, but as you get older you realise its not always that easy, Its not until the end of your life that you realise the plans youve made were simply plans. Because at the end when your looking back instead of forward, you wanna believe you made the most of what life gave you, you wanna believe that your leaving something good behind. You want it all to have mattered."
Episode 516: Cryin' Won't Help You Now
Lucas: [End of Lucas's book, while Peyton finishes it] And his world would be whole again. And his believe in god and love and art would be real waked in his heart.
