ITA. She is a great actress, she was amazing as Victoria...so vicious, so full of herself...I hated her (but then again loved some of her comments. ) but that just shows me, that Victoria is really good. I'm planning on watch the show Beautiful People - Daphne played the main part on this show. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?

No, but I'd love to. Daphne is a really good actress. I like her, although I dislike Victoria.

One Tree Hill: Is Victoria Evil Incarnate? One Tree Hill is a show that's featured its fair share of psychos. We all remember crazy Derek, aka Ian Banks, who stalked and kidnapped Peyton until Brooke showed up to save the day. His unique brand of nuttiness may be topped by Nanny Carrie, who is so obsessed with abducting Jamie (Jackson Brundage) that she's currently tormenting Dan until he agrees to help her. Of course, Dan himself may be the craziest of them all, though he usually resorts to torturing people through mind games instead of physical harm. With all of these weirdos running around, Tree Hill is a rather dangerous place to live. Dan, faux-Derek and Carrie are certainly crazy, but I'm slowly starting to believe that Victoria Davis may be the most insane, unstable character to ever appear on One Tree Hill. One Tree Hill has never been the series to look to for parental role models. Though Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) and Karen (Moira Kelly) are fairly awesome, many of the other parental figures on the show are either missing in action or kind of insane. Dan may seem like the worst parent ever, but at least he's shown some sort of desire to reconnect with the children he's screwed over time and again. Victoria, on the other hand, doesn't appear to have a sympathetic bone in her body. She's been nothing but a *friendly* since her first appearance in season 5, and now her *friendly*iness is rapidly spiraling out of control. Many One Tree Hill fans think that Brooke's mother is responsible for the mugging that left her beaten and bruised in last night's episode. Victoria did show a strong desire to take control of Clothes Over Bro's, and it is rather fishy that the robber took Brooke's latest sketches. Maybe I'm naive and optimistic, but I'd like to believe this isn't the case. Victoria has been a horrible beeyotch every single second she's appeared on screen, but there's a world of difference between slinging verbal put-downs and hiring someone to physically assault your daughter. Is Victoria really that evil? Maybe she is. Maybe the mugger was supposed to break in after Brooke (Sophia Bush) left for the evening and things just got out of control. If Victoria is behind the mugging, how is this storyline going to end? Now that Brooke's packing heat and indulging in target practice, is a good old fashioned matricide in the future? I'm not sure I want to see Brooke pushed that far, but if Victoria is the culprit there's certainly no way things can end well. We'll have to be patient and see how this storyline plays out. Many fans seem ready to point the finger at Victoria, but part of me still believes that no mother, fictional or not, could be so cruel. If she truly is behind Brooke's attack, she deserves whatever karmic payback the writers can cook up for her. Source

Exclusive Interview: Daphne Zuniga of 'One Tree Hill'The other day I wrote an article pondering whether One Tree Hill's Victoria Davis is pure evil. Brooke's mother has been making her daughter's life hell since she first appeared in season 5, and the tension between them only escalated recently when Victoria threatened to take over Brooke's company. Victoria may seem beyond redemption, but when I sat down to interview actress Daphne Zuniga today she made me realize that her character's actions actually make a lot of sense. From a certain perspective, Brooke is the one making the wrong decisions, and Victoria is the one trying to knock some sense into her. Is it possible that she's not such a bad mother after all?Continue on for the entire interview, where Daphne talks about Brooke's mugging, her character's motivations, and some other projects she's involved in. This is Don with BuddyTV, and today I'm talking to Daphne Zuniga, who plays Victoria on One Tree Hill. With One Tree Hill, I'm wondering how you got involved with the show and how that opportunity came about for you? They were looking for the part of Brooke's mom, and it kind of came the usual way, through my agent. It was a little over a year ago now. I loved the opportunity to play such a witch. In the conversation I had with [creator] Mark Schwahn before I even started, he described her to me in full detail. He really fleshed her out, really had this great idea, and really had this solid, clear vision of this character. He said, "I've seen your other work, and you come across very warm-heartedly. I don't want you to come from that place." And I said, "Oh, I think I can muster up a *friendly*y place to come from." My boyfriend agreed wholeheartedly. [laughs] I was a big fan of Melrose Place back in the day, and on that show you were the nice character who had crazy people surrounding you all the time. On One Tree Hill you really get to be on the other side, and you get to make other people's lives hellish. Is one of those more fun for you to play? The former is more natural to me, and I think it's more natural to, hopefully, most people. When I was playing that character on Melrose, you're sort of a person who has good intentions, and then the craziness happens and you react to that. You have a lot of emotional reaction to what's going on around you. When I play Victoria, she doesn't have access to any of that basic human feeling. She doesn't experience those emotions that I, Daphne, or other characters that I've played experience on a daily basis. She just doesn't. Maybe Victoria doesn't do it in the best way, but she really is looking out for her daughter and her daughter's company. Before [Brooke] turned [her company] into an empire, just about then when it could happen, she decided to return to some backwater town and throw it all away. Victoria has gotten investors, has invested her own name, her work, and money that she's raised, and the board can actually sue you for being irresponsible and squandering their money. She's not fooling around, and she doesn't have time to deal with these emotions that Brooke wants her to fool around with. This is serious, she's not a kid anymore. When I started to see it from that way, as opposed to how can I be mean, it made more sense and it was easier to play. A lot of fans seem to think that Victoria might be responsible for Brooke's mugging that happened a couple episodes ago. Do you know anything about that, or anything else that's coming up for your character? There is stuff coming up about that, and I cannot talk about it. I like the way that it was written, and I like to let people think whatever they want. That's obviously what was wanted from the writers, and I do have more to do around that coming up. I can't really talk about that, but I would say, just in theory, that it's not beyond Victoria to do something like that. She's that desperate and that ill-equipped with doing things properly, and that's been proven. Of course, they did introduce that young girl at the same time in the same episode, and she's also desperate. Most of your scenes on the show are with Sophia Bush. Did you get to audition with her beforehand? How is that chemistry on the set?No, I didn't audition for this, but the chemistry was just sort of meant to be. We hit it off right away. I remember being in the makeup trailer early on, talking about Buddhism, boys, [and] life. We went to the beach a couple times. She reminds me of myself in a way that she's incredibly independent, and she's much smarter than I, but there's this very grown up aspect to Sophia. She does a lot, she gets a lot done, and I don't think she really needs to depend on other people to get things done. It's hard to really be mean to her! She's a sensitive actress, so afterwards it'll be like "cut," and then I hug her, and we'll both be like, "Hey! How are you doing? Are you okay?" I know that you do a lot of work to help protect the environment. I was wondering if you could talk a little bit about that. Most recently I'm working with Environmental Justice Group. Environmental Justice, those are the grassroots groups that are in most of the poor neighborhoods in cities across the country. They really carry the burden by living where we put our ports, we build our oil refineries, and all of our garbage treatment plants go in these poor neighborhoods. The places that you drive through and don't really want to go, and don't want to spend much time in, people live there. There are a lot of grassroots organizations in these neighborhoods, and there's one here in L.A., a really fantastic one that's been around for three years. I've been working with them, and we just produced a short video for them to help raise awareness and funding. Did you want to talk about some of your other projects coming up? I know you have a movie on the Hallmark Channel coming up soon. [Mail Order Bride, airing November 8.] That was a Western, and it was so fun to do. So fun. [The character is] a pickpocket and a swindler. She starts out in Boston, but you also see her on the horses, shooting shotguns, and holding down the homestead while it's being attacked. It's really a fun Western. So much fun that we're looking into developing another one. Source: Buddy TV

Daphne Zuniga Takes on Tree Hill's Vicious Victoria The CW's One Tree Hill (Mondays at 9 pm/ET) has had its fair share of villains, and the newest bit of evil to take the town by storm is Victoria Davis, played by Daphne Zuniga. We caught up with the former Melrose Place resident to see if viewers might ever see Victoria's softer side, and preview how she and her Spaceballs co-stars will be reuniting on the small screen. — Robyn Ross TVGuide.Com: Had you seen Tree Hill before getting cast as Victoria? Daphne Zuniga: No, they sent me tapes and I watched some previous episodes which I thought were great. Even though it's about high school it felt really smart and emotionally mature, so it really interested me. Then I got on the phone with [series creator] Mark [Schwahn] and we had this great interaction as he described this character. I love supporting women and body image so at first I thought that would be my character, but no that's [Brooke], and I'm the antithesis of that. I thought that as long as the message is getting across, I'm happy to play the villain. TVGuide.Com: Readers of our recap blog think that Victoria was involved with the robbery at Clothes Over Bros and Brooke getting beat up.... Zuniga: I can't talk about any plot or story, but we've seen already that I'm pretty inappropriate and pretty violent a person, and I have absolutely no motherly feeling towards my daughter. If it were to be me, people wouldn't be surprised. TVGuide.Com: Will we ever see a softer side to Victoria? Zuniga: The situation right now is so desperate that if there was any softer side it would have to come from Brooke first, saying, "OK, I'm sorry mom. I'm back in New York, I want to help you with this company and keep it going the way you know is best." Victoria hasn't heard that yet, so I don't see much softness in her future. TVGuide.Com: Do you enjoy playing the villain? Zuniga: I love it because you're definitely acting. It reminds you, "Oh yeah, I'm acting. That's what I do for a living." It's fun. TVGuide.Com: Victoria and Dan would make the perfect evil couple if they were to ever put you guys together. Zuniga: It would be like The War of the Roses. That's a very sort of humorous and dramatic idea. Putting them together, who would survive? TVGuide.Com: Are you going to be sticking around for awhile? Zuniga: I've shot some stuff that you guys haven't seen yet so that was fun. They don't tell me that far in advance, so I'm not quite sure. TVGuide.Com: Torrey Devito played your daughter on Beautiful People. Though Carrie and Victoria don't have scenes together, how it is being on the same show again? Zuniga: I loved seeing her. Mark asked me about her and I said she's fantastic, and they love her there. They've just turned her into this total nut, right? She's so beautiful and whenever you see that, people hold it against them and don't expect the talent to be there to match the beauty. Right now, she's showing us her talent. TVGuide.Com: Is there anyone else you haven't had scenes with that you're hoping to? Zuniga: The thing about Victoria is that she doesn't like to hang out [in Tree Hill]. She only comes into town when she has to, slaps a few people around and then leaves. I can't really see her hanging out unless she had to. I've liked my stuff with Peyton (Hilarie Burton), and I've only had a scene or two with Joy (Bethany Joy Galeotti). She's a great actress, I'd love to work with her some more. TVGuide.Com: There is talk that there may be a Melrose Place reunion at the Emmys. Is there any truth to that? Zuniga: I have not heard. By the end of that show, when we were seven or however many years in, there were so many different cast members.... Maybe they were going out to see who will do it, or maybe it's just a rumor. TVGuide.Com: Did you see Grant Show's Swingtown at all? Zuniga: No, but I wanted to. I've seen his big mustache live, and I was pretty impressed. I was like, "Dude, you look good like that." He's perfect for that era. TVGuide.Com: Spaceballs: The Animated Series premieres Sept. 21, on G4. Why revisit that movie now, after all these years? Zuniga: Why now, I don't know. Mel Brooks has gone through this "rebirth" where he's just producing —he can't stop, whether it's Broadway or cartoons — so when they called me I agreed right away. I love the idea of working with him again. Joan Rivers came back, and that's been great. Bill Pullman couldn't do it, but we have someone who sounds so much like him, and of course John Candy isn't with us anymore, but we have an amazing guy who sounds and looks just like him. I get in there and I'm just so humbled by these brilliant voice-over artists who make the whole thing come alive. Every episode will be a take-off of another movie. It's wildly creative and fun, so I hope it does really well and people enjoy it. Source

Do you think that it was the last time we saw Victoria in the last episode? What do you think about the story about Brooke that she told Brooke? Should she have told Brooke?

I think that the story makes perfect sense in the way that Victoria treated and treats Brooke. She never wanted kids...and I think she resented Brooke for coming along, but once she realized her daughter's talents, she was not about to let Brooke get away. All Brooke wanted was to be loved, and she can't even get that from her own Mother. I think it's great she stood up to her, and told her that now she has her dreams, the company and no daughter.
I was very proud of Brooke for handling this the way that she did and even though her Mom never said anything about hiring the guy, I still think she did it!

Daphne Zuniga becomes a Mail Order BrideTHE DISH FROM MELROSE'S DIVADaphne Zuniga spoke with SheKnows about her career on and off Melrose Place. Central in her world currently is Zuniga’s upcoming original Hallmark movie, Mail Order Bride, airing November 8 at 9 p.m. Zuniga came to fame opposite John Cusack on the teen classic, A Sure Thing. Through numerous roles through the ‘80s and ‘90s she carved herself a reputation as a go-to actress for parts that required a certain amount of… “They always wanted me to play the smart girl. I am smart,” she says and laughs during a lunch break for One Tree Hill. Zuniga’s performance on Melrose Place altered that perception adding layers of darkness, passion and at times cunningness with her portrayal of Jo Reynolds for 109 episodes. She admits it was a stroke of fate and a higher power that led her to a Wild West set in British Columbia to portray a Mail Order Bride. Zuniga plays a con artist fleeing an 1800s baddie in Greg Evigan who wants her for stealing a large amount of cash. Posing as her recently deceased friend who was set to go to Montana and marry, Zuniga’s character instead makes the journey and the adventure and romance commences. THE ZEAL OF ZUNIGA SheKnows: You have kept so busy over the years from The Sure Thing to Melrose Place and now One Tree Hill, what do you credit your ability to get really lost in these diverse characters? You never seem to be typecast. Daphne Zuniga: As long as I stay curious about my internal process and growth, I think it attracts different parts. To be very specific, four or five years ago, I started doing these meditation retreats - completely silent for ten days. No distractions, no reading, no music, no writing. Even though it sounds horrific, and it was the first time, I left there and I was a changed person. What happened was, I was this wide open possibility on the inside. I was fearless. It is very interesting. From that year on, I literally started writing and I have been published three times. I started attracting these bizarre parts like Playboy bunnies to the crazy mom I play on One Tree Hill to this western gal I just played in Mail Order Bride, it’s like did that for my own internal sanity. But it was reflected by the parts just coming to me. It’s not something that I set out consciously to do. I just know that I love to stay creative. I can’t stand being stagnant. I had those years earlier. I knew if I wanted to stay really alive and creative, I needed to do it inside first. You can’t sit around and expect people to keep hiring you. You have to stay interested and interesting to yourself. The meditation, hard to believe, but it really turned things around. When you start to see yourself without limitation, the world sees you that way too. SheKnows: How was One Tree Hill? Daphne Zuniga: It really was fun. Earlier that year a strike was about to happen. I felt like I was on vacation. I got this call. I had heard of this show. I knew it was these good-looking kids (laughs). I talked to the creator, Mark Schwahn, and he told me he wanted me to play the villain. I’m always the normal one. You have to be a *friendly*. OK! I can do that, I have that in me for sure. It was fun to go in and have something to focus on one quality. Just be the mother who has no clue what mother means. I was just visiting, then I could leave, it was fun. SheKnows: Like a nephew, fun kid, but not yours. Daphne Zuniga: (Laughs) True! It was also cool for me being on location. They put you on location in North Carolina. Just coming in to do my thing, it was a real gift. INDIA TO MONTANA ON THE WINGS OF FAITH SheKnows: To put on the old west clothes and be part of a Hallmark movie, that’s an entertainment entity. How did Mail Order Bride come to you, did you pursue that project? Daphne Zuniga: You’re going to think this is crazy. I just got back from India. I had been doing this incredible process with these monks in India and he said to me, ‘start praying for what you want.’ I told him I didn’t pray. I meditate. He said you can call it whatever you want, just start to see it and I will send you blessings. I was in New York, just back from India. I was walking around Central Park and thought that I really wanted some sort of adventure. I wanted one more movie this year where I get to play an adventurer. I swear to God, Joel. I get back to my apartment and I called my agent and left a message. He calls me back and said ‘you’re never going to believe it but we got an offer.’ I said, ‘what do you mean an offer.’ He said, ‘do you ride a horse?’ I didn’t but that was good because they wanted someone who couldn’t. I read the script that night for Mail Order Bride and signed right on because that was it. That was what the Monk sent me, so there you have it. SheKnows: That’s the universe at work again. Daphne Zuniga: My agent said you’re leaving Tuesday and that was Thursday. That, I love about this business. There’s a lot to not love, but to go off and be told you have to be a cowgirl on Tuesday. I learned how to ride a horse. I learned how to shoot a shotgun. I got to wear corsets and petticoats and heard cattle. SheKnows: Where was it filmed, sounds miles from Melrose? Daphne Zuniga: (Laughs) Outside of Vancouver. We got to ride the most amazing horses up there. SheKnows: How was working with My Two Dads’ Greg Evigan? Daphne Zuniga: Yes, Greg is my favorite costar now. He’s so fantastic. He plays a bad guy, I never met him. I had never seen BJ and the Bear, but he plays this guy is after me because I stole money from him. Up until that point, I was someone who worked for him as a saloon girl, a pickpocket, the bootlegging circuit. The story opens up and I’m avoiding him going off to Montana as a mail order bride to escape him. Then, he comes and gets me. SheKnows: Definitely a wrinkle on the mail-order-bride movies of the past. You’re there for sinister reasons. Daphne Zuniga: Yeah, it’s like I’m a fugitive. We had such fun Greg and I pitched a story, a western, based on these characters so, they liked our pitch, so we’ll see.
