Will Lance Bass Get a Male Partner on Dancing with the Stars?
Lance Bass is reportedly set for the next season of Dancing with the Stars but his sexuality has apparently presented producers with a question.
The NYDN's Rush & Molloy report: "Lance Bass is locked and loaded for the next season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' says an insider. But we hear network execs are already fretting over whether or not to pair the openly homosexual pop star with a male or female dance partner. A homosexual ballroom dancer? Color us surprised!"
How about Mark Ballas, who's said he's comfortable with stereotypes?
Of course, then comes the battle over who will lead.

I think he should still have a female dance partner! There have been planty of homosexual people who have competed before, atleast in the UK there have been, and they've always stuck to female partners!

Magazine names celebrities for new "Dancing" season August 6, 2008
Take it with several grains of salt, but the identities of six of the celebrities set to appear on the next edition of " Dancing With the Stars" have been made public.
According to In Touch Weekly, the would-be dancers include singer Toni Braxton, reality show fixture Kim Kardashian, rodeo star/Jewel boyfriend Ty Murray, former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, NSync's Lance Bass and "Brady Bunch" mom Florence Henderson.
"Some of the cast are already starting to work out and train, even though they won't meet their dance partners for a few more weeks," an "insider" told In Touch.
An ABC representative threw cold water on the news, telling the mag: "We are not at liberty to confirm any casting rumors or details prior to the official cast reveal taking place on 'Good Morning America' on Aug. 25."

Who will be Dancing with the Stars this time around? The Season 7 roster — which is 13 names long, a first for the show — includes a newly minted Olympic gold-medalist, a soap-opera icon and reality television's shapeliest star. Also making the cut are DWTS' youngest and oldest celeb contenders ever.
As revealed on Monday's Good Morning America, the official line-up is as follows:
• Lance Bass (formerly of *NSYNC and a trained cosmonaut) is paired with Lacey Schwimmer (a onetime So You Think You Can Dance finalist and the 2007 World Swing Dance champ)
• Celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito is paired with Karina Smirnoff
• Team USA beach volleyball queen Misty May-Treanor is paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy (who was absent last cycle but is now returning for his fifth season)
• Track star/former "World's Fastest Man" Maurice Greene is paired with Cheryl Burke
• Grammy-winning recording artist Toni Braxton is paired with Alec Mazo
• Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is paired with Mark Ballas (See related news story: Kardashian Impaired by Injury Just as Rehearsals Begin)
• Hannah Montana's Cody Linley, Dancing's youngest celeb, is paired with "older woman" Julianne Hough
• Oscar and Emmy winner Cloris Leachman, 82, is paired with Corky Ballas (Mark's father and a World Latin Champion)
• TV vet Ted McGinley is paired with new pro Inna Brayer, the current U.S. Amateur 10 Dance Champion
• Brooke Burke (Wild On, Rock Star) is paired with Derek Hough
• Comedian Jeff Ross, aka TV's "celebrity roastmaster general," is paired with Edyta Sliwinska
• Recently retired Super Bowl champion Warren Sapp is paired with Kym Johnson
• All My Children Emmy winner Susan Lucci is paired with Tony Dovolani
Lucci has been on DWTS' wish list for years, but always was put off by the cross-country travel that would be required between Los Angeles and her NYC soap set. "But on further examination and after speaking to Cameron Mathison, I thought, 'You know what? I really want to do this,'" she explained on GMA. "I'm so excited to be a part of this."
Dancing with the Stars' three-night season premiere kicks off Monday, Sept. 22, when for the first time ever, each team must prepare two routines for the first week of competition, one of which they’ll perform that first night. Two couples will be eliminated during the first week.
The first guest recording artists to be booked are the Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney, both of which will perform on the Sept. 24 results show.

Lance Bass on Prepping for DWTS: ‘I’m Wearing Heels!’
It’s a far cry from his sneaker wearing, hip-hop dancing days with ‘N Sync.
“I’m wearing heels!” Dancing with the Stars contestant Lance Bass told PEOPLE Tuesday at the Lollipop Theatre Networks thingytail party. “It’s not that fun. My feet are swollen sausages every day!”
And the pain doesn’t end there: At 29, Bass is also feeling his age after four weeks of countless hours spent preparing for Monday night’s highly anticipated Dancing with the Stars season 7 premiere (8 p.m. ET on ABC).
“It doesn’t feel the same at all,” Bass said, who is partnered with a new ballroom pro, So You Think You Can Dance alum Lacey Schwimmer. “The first thing you notice is your knees, then your lower back goes out, your arms start hurting–and the feet!”
While Bass is already considered an early favorite, he’s got his eyes focused on his competition. “Maurice Green and even Warren Sapp and Misty May– those athletes can do anything,” he said. But so can he, according to former ‘N Sync member and Dancing alum Joey Fatone. “He said I got it,” recalled Bass. “I was used to the hard work with ‘N Sync.”
And despite being “excited, scared, and nervous,” he’s ready for Monday night’s two-dance premiere: “I have the cha cha and my quick step ready to go!” –Kimberly Lansing
