Q. What are some of the recent projects you've been working on?
A. I just have been focusing on Twilight actually, we just got done filming that. That's been my main thing that I've been working on.
Q. What can you tell us about the premise for Twilight and about your character?
A. Twilight is based off of a book by Stephenie Meyer and it's a group of four books based on a girl named Bella who is a human that falls in love with a vampire. My character is Angela, she's one of Bella's friends in school and she's a human girl. The book basically goes back and forth between two worlds, the human world with Bella at school with her friends, and the vampire world which is Edward Cullen who she falls in love with and his family of vampires.
Q. How much does the movie compare and contrast with the book series?
A. It's pretty much identical, everything that the fans want to see happen in the movie, happens. They're going to get to see the main exciting things that they got from the book.
Q. What is it about the film that drew you to want to be a part of it?
A. I heard about the books before I started filming but I didn't get a chance to read them. When I found out that they were casting for the movie I read all of the books and I just fell completely and totally in love. I understand why people are so infatuated with this book. It's absolutely just epic and it's really just intriguing and everyone wants to be a part of this. I am really thankful that I got a chance to work on it.
Q. Were you able to draw from the books for your portrayal of Angela?
A. I think that everybody who read the book on set really used it to help them. It's not as if you're going into a film with the idea of a character, you literally have it right in front of you. You can research and it's easy to research because you have the books right there for you to go and get and read.
Q. Was there anything about the role that was challenging?
A. I wouldn't say that it was so challenging, I think the only thing that really kind of game me a hard time was wanting to please all of the fans. I know they have really high expectations and I know how much this book and these characters. For me, it was just about pleasing the fans of the book.
Q. How was getting to work with the director Catherine Hardwicke?
A. So amazing, that was one thing I was really looking forward to because I have seen all of her movies and she's very creative and the mood of all of her movies is really fantastic. I had always wanted to work with her and finding out that I got was incredible. Actually doing it was completely different, it was out of this world. She's so much fun and she makes you feel like you've known her forever. It's like she's the cool aunt or something.
Q. Did the chemistry with the cast come naturally or did it take some time to develop?
A. I think everybody just came to set already knowing the people because before we even started filming everyone knew about each other and what we worked on just because the fans are always talking. I think we all came to set like we already knew each other.
Q. Do you have a really memorable moment from filming?
A. Oh they were all pretty memorable! There is a scene with me and Anna Kendrick in a dress shop and they were just quick little scenes for editing and I don't think anyone really knew what we were doing. We just kind of had fun with it and play with it and I just think we had a really good time in that dress shop. I mean, looking at all of those dresses and throwing Anna in and out of dresses and I had this really cool purple dress on and I had glitter all over me. I don't know how I had glitter on me because nobody put glitter on me, but it was on me and I couldn't get it off, I think it was on the dress.
Q. What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A. A big, fat thank you! I am so happy that these fans are actually interested, I think it's really cool that they're interested in what I'm doing. Not even that, just interested in something that I happen to be doing, that's really cool. I'm just really excited to be a part of something like this.
