Johnny Depp and Disney announced at the Walt Disney Studios Showcase in Hollywood, that he will play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland.
Depp and Burton first teamed up for the 1990’s film Edward Scissorhands. This latest version of Alice In Wonderland will be in 3D, using a mix of live action and performance capture CGI.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star will also play the sidekick Tonto in the upcoming movie version of The Lone Ranger.
Depp also agreed to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

That's really cool!!! I love that he plays in Disney movies!! I still want to watch "Finding Neverland!"

I'm really looking forward to this! I love that Johnny always works on Tim Burtons movies, and this sounds really good! Plus i cant wait till the 4th Pirates of the carribean, although its nearly 4 years away!

Yeah, it's great that there will be a fourth part of Pirates!! I can't wait to see that one either! I didn't thought there would be coming an other one, because of the ending of three.

In any event, the 3D flick will use a mix of live action and performance capture CGI. It will be directed by Tim Burton, who first teamed up with Depp for the 1990’s film Edward Scissorhands. Depp will appear alongside Anne Hathaway as The White Queen and Burton’s wife, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen.
