Buddy TV Episode Recap:
Last week on One Tree Hill, Dan dropped a bombshell on Nathan by telling him that he only has six months left to live. Nathan didn't buy it, and I'm not sure I do either. Meanwhile, the love triangle that refuses to die continued on, with Lucas moping over Lindsey and Peyton pining over Lucas. The good news is that Lindsey left Lucas his house key and took off back to New York. Could she really be out of his life forever?
On tonight's episode, Lucas investigates Dan's supposed heart condition, while Haley ponders letting Jamie see his evil grandpa.

Jamie (Jackson Brundage) wants to know why Grandpa Dan didn't come to his birthday party, but Nathan doesn't have much of an explanation. He takes Haley aside and tells her about Dan's whole "six months to live" thing. Nathan thinks he may be telling the truth for once, but he still has no intention of letting him see his grandson.
Are Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Lucas close to becoming an item again, or am I just reading too much into their scenes together? He stops by to help her with the baby, and Peyton feels awkward when she walks out in her underwear. After he leaves, Lucas goes to the school and lets everyone know that Quentin can't play basketball for six weeks due to his injury. As you'd expect, Quentin is a total ass and quits the team when this information is revealed.
Mouth's boss lets him know that he may have a chance at an on-air gig. All of the sportscasters are out sick, and his boss is feeling generous. This could be Mouth's (Lee Norris) big break. At the school, Haley fills Lucas in on Dan's condition, and Lucas is hilariously nonchalant about the whole thing. I love how nobody ever believes a thing Dan says.
Despite the fact that no one wants to see him, Dan stops by the basketball court to give Nathan some fatherly advice. Nathan responds by throwing the ball at his head. It even makes a little "whoosh" sound as it goes by! Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) is feeling a little more sympathetic to Dan's plight. She's pondering letting Jamie see his grandpa, so she goes to Peyton for some friendly advice. Peyton thinks it might be a good idea.
It's time for the big confrontation between Dan and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray). Dan reiterates that he'll be dead in six months, but Lucas thinks it's no big deal since his father is dead to him already. It looks like those Scott brothers are going to stick together on this one.
I don't know if you've heard the news, but Peyton is in love with Lucas, and Lucas is still pining over Lindsey. Shocking, isn't it? It's like I've witnessed this scene 87 times before. Haley tries to tell Peyton that she thinks Lucas is in love with her, but I'm so tired of this storyline that I don't even care.
In a more interesting and depressing plot line, Brooke learns that her baby's heart is riddled with holes. Without a major surgery, baby Angie will die within a year or two. Speaking of little babies, Quentin is still whining over his broken hand. Nathan (James Lafferty) tries to tell him that he should rejoin the team and pursue his dreams, but really, who cares? Quentin is awful. In my ideal world, Dan kills Quentin with a machete, takes his heart, and lives to cause trouble for 50 more years.
It's time for Mouth's on-air debut! He's incredibly nervous, flubs a few lines, and spills water all over himself. He has two more broadcasts in the afternoon, so maybe he'll get one of them right. While Brooke and Millicent rush to the station to support him, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) goes to see Lindsey in New York. She tries to tell Lindsey that, no matter what his crappy book said, Lucas is in love with her. Lindsey proves to be awesome once again, telling Peyton to read his book and get it through her thick head that Lucas wants her. Seriously Peyton, you need to wake up and smell the lust in the air.
Dan is feeling rather persistent, so he goes to see Nathan yet again. He tells his son about his suicide attempt in prison, then claims that all he wants to do is fix things with his family before he dies. Dan breaks out the hilarious "Don't deny a dying man his last wish" line, and Nathan looks torn. Should he grant his dad's final request?
Brooke fails to impress her co-workers by bringing a crying baby into the office, but Mouth fares better in the workplace. After a pep talk from Millicent, he nails his second broadcast. Meanwhile, Quentin apologizes to Skills (Antwon Tanner) for being a whiny crybaby about everything. It looks like he's not going to quit the Ravens, but I still like my idea of Dan killing him and stealing his heart.
Is that Gavin DeGraw I hear? One of his new songs plays in the background while Brooke introduces a new Clothes Over Bro's toddlers line. On the court, Quentin thanks Nathan for his help and encourages him to chase after his basketball dreams. I'm not sure why Quentin did a 180 degree character turn in the span of five minutes, but hating him is now becoming more difficult.
Love is in the air during the last few minutes of the episode. Mouth tells Millicent that he loves her, Jamie writes a thank you card to his grandpa, and Nathan and Haley start to feel a little bit sorry for Dan. However, love doesn't win out in the end and bring everyone together. Haley decides to throw the card in the trash, and Nathan tells Dan (Paul Johansson) that he'll never forgive him. Lucas doesn't fare much better, as Lindsey turns down his request for sexy webcam fun. Like the song says, sometimes love just ain't enough.
