All Grown Up
For once, actors don’t mind aging By Paula Henderson
Excerpt:Still one quesiton remains. What year is it?
“It’s not like we put a time frame on it,” Sophia Bush says. “That’s kind of irrelevant since we’re not doing a show on sci-fi gadgets or concept cars. We’re just picking up at a different time in the lives of these people”.
Wanting to avoid declaring an actual year, Schwann removed the date from the basketball team’s championship banner, but little things do crop up – like in a flashback that Murray brought to Schwann’s attention.
“I said ‘I’m using the iPhone but yet we’re in the past?” He said “The show’s actually taking place in the future, so the phone you’re supposed to have in season 5 should be far superior to the iPhone.’ So I said ‘Huh, OK, but I think I’m using a Razor,’” Murray says. “So it doesn’t necessarily make all the sense in the world, but it doesn’t need to. The show’s there to be enjoyed."

Yeah, I agree that it's fun that they didn't really put a timeline in it!
