Book: Twilight/New Moon - Stephany Meyer

I thought that with all the girls here who read or have read twilight, we should have a topic to talk about it, instead of talking about it in 10 different topics.

And for those who haven't read the book yet, maybe it's better not to read this topic, because we don't wanna spoil it.

I finished New Moon last night and it was great!!!
I really loved the end! I can't wait to find out how it continues!
I will wait till Kristy has finished her book until I really go tell what was the most great and the most sad parts!

Wasnt it just all so great? The way Edward was going to die for Bella, and she went to Italy, and their reunion!! ;D It was so sweet!
But I do feel kind of bad for Jacob, because you know he was there for Bella, yet he definately comes in 2nd best once Edwards back
Basically the book re-started once Alice was back, the first time i read it i was literally like- when i read that it was Edward on the phone and not Carlisle! But it was all so great from there! ;D

Im really glad you liked it Anna! I wish you could read eclipse also, but that isnt out in the Netherlands yet at least i dont think so...

Yeah, it was so great! I couldn't believe that Jacob had Edward on the phone! It was really too bad that Edward believed that Bella died! But it was so great that she catched him in Italy at the right moment! It was so sweet and I was so glad that he was save!
I agree about Jacob, but I think that if Jacob was honest to himself, he would have know that Bella would always love Edward and that there was no change for him. He let it go too far!
And yeah, the book really restarted after Alice came back!
I was glad that Rosalie (something like that?) said sorry to Bella!
And the voting was GREAT!! haha, and I'm glad that Edward will do it, the marriage thing ROCKS!! haha, I so wanna have them get married!!

Yeah, I wanna read eclips too, but it's not out in dutch indeed, and I'm not sure if I wanna go read it in english yet, I think I'm gonna buy it the first moment I can in dutch!

Yeah it was great she saved him, i really liked how the book was like based on Romeo and Juliet (Luckily it didnt have the same ending as R&J though haha) i could sort of tell it would be from the start where they watched the dvd, and then Edward said about thinking about killing himself, when she was nearly killed by James, it was big foreshadowing!
True yeah, Jacob is kind of acting a bit possessive, and kind of kidding himself (thing is a lot of this continues in Eclipse so i cant say much more without spoiling it lol
Yeah the voting was one of the best bits, i also liked Bellas 'epiphany' where she realized she heard the voices- because she knew Edward would always love her! That was really sweet!
And yeah i liked that bit with Rosalie too, its the first time in the series i actually liked her at all haha

Yeah with buying eclipse that is a good idea, isnt it coming out some time like August there? That isnt too long away
Its a lot longer then the other two its like 640 pages, which is probably why they've taken so long to translate it!

I can't wait to read it!
I thought it comes out around August or September. Somewhere there! I can't wait to read it, but it does explain indeed why it takes so long.
Altho Harry Potter only took 4/5 months, but that's probably because that book is more populair!

I loved this book but not quite as much as i liked twilight. I didnt cry which suprised me because i did cry at the first book when most people dont, lol.
I think that my favourite part was the voting, i love that Alice and Carlisle volunteered which made Edward realise that it really should be him. And i LOVE that they're gonna get married!
I felt sorry for jacob, i really do like him and although i know that Edward will always be better for Bella i wonder what would have happened if Alice hadn't come back.
I cant wait to read eclipse, i have it waiting for me now, lol.

Yeah i thought twilight was better then new moon also, actually twilights the best out of the 3 i think, but that doesnt stop the other two from being amazing
I did cry slightly at the first book- just not at the time you said, i sort of had tears in my eyes through the whole chapter 'the angel' in twilight, but i didnt quite cry
Thing is, i know you two havent read eclipse yet.. but although i like Jacob in new moon, i grow to really NOT like him in eclipse, you'll possibly see why when you read it

Yeah i wonder that as well! I think it would have ended with Edward returning no matter what though, because he said so to Bella, also.. I dont know also if you two have read this- but on stephenies website, she put a chapter up of Edwards P.o.v when Rosalie called him, because everyone was curious as to what he was like... and it really does hint that he would have come back anyway ;D
Enjoy eclipse anyway when you read it! ;D

And yea, at the end of new moon i could see that Jacob was gonna start being more and more mean! But at the same time he was so upset when Bella went to hug him and Edward stopped her, i hated Edward for that part

I personally didnt, i dont know why, but i just cant hate Edward for anything he does no matter what
You kind of find out all why in eclipse anyway, admittedly early on in eclipse he gets slightly irritating...
But i could just never hate Edward for anything, probably because he's the reason i love the books so much
But yeah i did feel bad for Jacob, but eclipse stops me from it because he is really mean, and deliberately tries to ruin Edward and Bella, well most of it he does, he's just not twilight/early new moon Jacob anymore, and it was only at them points i think he was likeable, but still there is loads of people that love his character

I agree with you, Emma!
I don't hate Edward for stopping Bella when she wanted to hug Jacob. First because I kind of like it that he 'clames' her and second because I think that Edward could read Jacobs mind and was afraid that Jacob might had something else planned! I'm afraid for that!

And I already don't really like Jacob. He is so obsessed with Bella, while she told him so clearly that it was only friendship for her! He just keeps going after her and hurt her because he wants more! Like at the conversation between Edward/Bella and Jacob at the end of New Moon, when Jacob wanted Edward to leave again! Didn't Jacob see how hurt she was when Edward left?
He's just too mean and obsessive for me!

I also so agree with what you said- its true, maybe Jacob was planning something else? Like to kiss her or something? Or maybe Edward was just worried, that he would lose control? After all its so easy for them to do that, it shows that in New moon with Emily and Sam!
Exactly- with Jacob i really get the feeling in new moon, that its not really love, with him its more obsession or the want to be in love.. because if he truly did love her, he would know that losing Edward is the most painful thing for her, and would back off, of course he could still be her friend but not say 'i love you' every 5 minutes! lol ;D

Problem is he kind of gets worse in Eclipse- but it seems like he does it all then to wind Edward up, like he wants Edward to end up losing control himself, so Edward breaks the treaty? Its just really annoying of him! But eclipse still is amazing, despite all the Jacob parts, and this horrible bit towards the end, i think you'll know what bit im talking about when you get to read it

Yea i agree with what you girls are saying, i guess i just like to try and see the best in people.
I love Edward so much tho, and i guess i didnt really mean hate, just disappointed a bit.

I do try to as well, but sometimes i dont know, the bad side kind of stands out.. i dont know if its because im come across loads of people like that in my life, people that care about themselves more then anyone else, that will care about their own feelings more? things like that.. Sorry getting a bit deep in here lol ;D

...I do like Jacob in twilight though, and early new moon, after all the book got a lot happier once he came in, and for a while he was a really great character, afterall basically he saved Bella, both literally and metaphorically i couldnt find anyway to hate him then, especailly from when he first comes in and helps fix up the motorbikes for free and stuff like that

Yea i get what you mean with people like that being in your life emma, i have them too. I guess that sometimes it's easier to forgive a character than it is a real person.

Yeah, I have to agree with you, Emma.
Jacob made the book a lot happier, but he got obsessive and that's what I hate about him.

Yeah i agree Anna! Its basically after he becomes a werewolf that i hate him, but who knows, he might become likeable again in the last book... i can hope

Also, You know whats really cool? ...finding new people who already love the books! like i was in my travel and tourism college lesson, and i heard one of my friends talking about it trying to convince her other friend to read it, so i was like 'you like twilight?' and she was like 'yeah, please tell me you do also!' so at that point i showed her my copy of new moon which was in my bag, and it was like one of those really cool moments So we sat there, and watched the movie trailer on my ipod and she hadnt seen it before so like squeeled the whole way through, it was really funny! And we're going to go see the movie together in Jan, its my 4th time planned because ive promised to go with my sister and 2 other friends! lol, it just seemed so random
...Sometimes i wish we all lived nearer so we could all see the movie together also

I know it would be really cool! ;D


But yeah... So i was just wondering has anyone ever seen other people reading it? Or have any other friends/family who read it?
