In a way i agree but in a way i dont.
Jacob knows that Bella loves him too, and even if it isnt in the same way she loves Edward it's enough to give him hope. I think that as long as you have hope you will always keep trying to get the one you love and it's only when hope dies that you give up. Possibly explaining what Jacob does at the very end of Eclipse.

I agree with both of you, Em and Kris.
To me, Jacob shouldn't tell her, but I get your point, Kris, because it's true that she loves him, but I think more as friends, but I agree that Jacob has his hopes on that!
But I also agree that that's so great about Edward! He cares more about Bella as he cares about himself and that's so great!! He wanted to leave her because of her and when he heard that she might have died, he wanted to kill himself. It's so beautifull!!
