Teen sensation Miley Cyrus recently spoke with Extra! about her current life as a teenager and her new CD, Breakout. Here’s what she had to say:
On shedding the good girl image: “I wanted to embrace my older audience a little more…kind of taking shackles off and doing the music I wanted to do. They are the things I want to say to the world. I just want this to be a CD that you can let loose to and dance to and kind of forget all the crazy stuff!”
On how she deals with the constant media attention: “There’s going to be that no matter what…I am obviously under the public eye a lot…Instead of putting negativity to it, taking the opportunity to make it a positive thing. It gives me an opportunity to voice those decisions, those things I go through a little more publicly, and hopefully they help people out in their lives.”
On paparazzi chronicling her every move: “Yeah, 24/7. It’s weird. At first I kind of always wanted it…then once it started happening to me it’s not so cool anymore.”
On her family being protective of her: “My big brother [Trace] especially…I love him so much. He’s always been very different, me and him both, and so we’ve both kind of gotten scrutinized for that and he kind of understands and he wants to help me through it.”
On critics calling Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato the next “Mileys”: “People are looking up to what I do. But, I don’t think there could be a next Miley. I think they should be the next Selena, Demi…make their own way.”

Miley Cyrus Blames Controversial Photos on Her Youth
Miley Cyrus chalked it up to her youth when she discussed – for the first time – her controversial photos that appeared in Vanity Fair.
Rehashing the brouhaha of last April on Tuesday's Good Morning America, the musician, promoting her new album Breakout, said, "I think I was just in a stage where I was just trying to get things done, and maybe look for an older audience. I was working with a big magazine just trying to go with what they were saying."
But when it came to the criticism about the portraits – which included a pose in which Cyrus, 15, back to the camera, looked to be topless – the singer said, "People need to remember that I am young and that I do have feelings, and I'll do the same thing for them. Anyone who was 15 years old can't say they haven't made a mistake. So I think it's just normal."
Having put that "hard time" behind her, Cyrus says she's walked away smarter, and she now "knows what it's like to have people talk about you like you're kind of iron."

Miley Cyrus Is Looking For a BoyfriendMiley Cyrus comes out of her NYC Hotel early morning in a pair of green sweat pants, on her way to perform at NBC’s The Today Show on Friday morning. Her costume was also brought in the car where she will change into performance clothes at NBC Studios. “It’s kinda hard when I’m out with my friends and stuff; my friends are, you know, wantin’ to just hang out,” she told TODAY’s kid correspondent, Bailey Monte. “Do you have a boyfriend right now?” Bailey asked. “No,” Cyrus said, but then added with a laugh: “Lookin’.” “It is hard when you are hanging out with guys, even guys that are just your friends,” Cyrus said. “It’s automatically your boyfriend, because that’s what the media thinks. I think it’s good if you can be able to have guy and girl friends that, you know, understand you … and it stinks when we go out; people automatically think we’re together.” Source: Just Jared

Miley Cyrus picks up some yogurt with gummy bears at YogurTree with her mom, and then goes shopping in LA on Sunday. The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star recently apologized for a YouTube video featuring her and her BFF Mandy Jiroux poking fun at fellow teen queens Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. “I mean if we offended (Selena and Demi), we’re super sorry, but we were, like, just having fun,” Miley said in an interview with Popstar! magazine. “That’s our thing, to be funny,” she said. “They were being funny on their show, and (besides) Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were, like, imitating them. You know, like, being funny.” Source: Just Jared

Update: Just heard back from a Disney rep regarding Miley Cyrus and talk about the end of Hannah Montana.
"Miley said it best when she said she's delighted to be part of the Disney family," the rep wrote in an email. "We start production on the third season of Hannah Montana on August 4 and have an option for a fourth season beyond that. We look forward to the Hannah Montana feature film coming to a theatre near you in Spring 2009."
Miley Cyrus may be getting ready to say goodbye to Hannah Montana. Or at least she's thinking about it.
The 15-year-old superstar feels the time may be right for her hit Disney Channel series to come to an end.
"We’re thinking this is our last season," Cyrus tells me.

Sweet 16 Celebration For Miley CyrusAs reported yesterday, Miley Cyrus will be celebrating her 16th birthday with Mickey Mouse! “I’m stoked!” Miley told Radio Disney. “Most everyone dresses up on their Sweet 16. Not me. I’m going to be ready to get in the water and ready get on the crazy rides. That’s all I want to do the entire time is ride the rides. I only turn 16 once, so it’s going to be an awesome party!” “The best part of the party is we’re going to recognize some really cool kids from Youth Service America who are giving back to their community,” she continued. “That’s so awesome because I think it’s really important for kids like us to volunteer.” You can buy your own $250 tickets to celebrate Miley’s Sweet 16 – Share The Celebration, at Disneyland Resort on Oct. 5! That really is cool actually although i think that birthdays should be spent with friends and family, not fans. However, Miley is donating her portion fo the profits to some Youth America thing which is kinda cool
