Episode Recap: Touch Me I’m Going to Scream, Part 1

Welcome back to Tree Hill.

After last season's cliffhanger over who Lucas picked, we finally got our answer. But the producers didn’t give it to us easily. The episode started off with Brooke and Lucas celebrating their one-year anniversary, Lucas in the middle of his book tour and Brooke traveling with her company. My immediate reaction was not surprise, but rather that this scenario really didn’t seem true to the story.

So when Lucas swung around and ended up in Peyton’s house, I was happy to see the flash-forward change. They looked genuinely happy together as Peyton told him, "Time flies when you get what you wish for." But then all of a sudden Lucas is on a beach and out comes Lindsay. Okay, so at this point I knew what was going on and that we still hadn’t gotten our answer. Finally Lucas is back to outside where he started, trying to pick a card that represented the woman he’d end up with. And just like that, he was back at the airport, where we left off last season, talking to the man in his vision. Why is it that in television and movies the wise stranger always has the best advice?

The stranger told Lucas, "love finds you" and that it’s about destiny. This struck a chord in his heart. Saying that he’s always known, he picks up the phone. A few minutes later the girl on the other end shows up and we finally get the real resolution: he’s chosen Peyton. This is the ending I wanted to see.

"You’re a mess, Lucas Scott, but you’re my mess," are Peyton’s first words to him.

Over at Clothes Over Bros, the “botoxed vampire-ess” Victoria is back. She threatens to oust Brooke as the designer, thinking she can keep the brand without her. Always stone-cold, Mommy Davis tells her that the new line better be good or it's goodbye company, hello community college, if she can get in. Ouch.

We also got to see more of two very different blossoming Tree Hill relationships. The first, endearing and sweet, is that of Mouth and Millicent. Mouth tells Milly that he's quit his job and has to leave in just three days to take a sportscasting gig in Omaha. Millicent immediately knows she’s going with him — until Victoria shows up and throws Clothes Over Bros for a loop.

Millicent feels that she has to be loyal and help Brooke get through this hard time. Luckily, Brooke pushes her to follow her love and Millicent obliges and will join Mouth on their new journey in Omaha.

The other relationship, more sneaky and freaky, is Skillz and Mrs. Scott. Nathan is on to the fact that his mom has a new Internet lover, which he’s quite embarrassed about, but has no idea it’s his friend who’s helping to satisfy his mom during her "grandmother crisis" as he likes to call it. I have to say that though this story line may seem a little far-fetched, it’s certainly providing some hilarious scenes.

As for the rest of the Scott family, things are looking good. Nathan is playing ball and Haley is in the studio. Unfortunately Nathan is starting to realize that getting back to the kind of player he once was is still not going to be easy, and he’s feeling the pain with every dunk he makes.

Things are not looking good for Tree Hill’s resident bad guy. Dan wakes up in the hospital after being hit by a car, only to see Carrie. It was starting to seem like Dan could be turning his life around, but karma has come back to bite him in the behind — big time. Psycho nanny Carrie is now his nurse and is ready for revenge and torture after Dan had taken Jamie away from her. My first thought was, "where are all the doctors, how can no one know what’s going on?" but then of course we learned the truth, which I for one was not expecting. As Dan thinks he’s about to open the door and get some help, he realizes that he’s not actually in a hospital, but stuck inside Carrie’s house.

Back to our central couple: Lucas and Peyton are in Vegas and ready to tie the knot. They get to the chapel, which is a bit of a circus, and decide to leave. They end up in the hotel room where Lucas originally proposed. Peyton has been replaying this moment over in her head: she says yes, and finally this time is for real and her dream can come true.

At the end of the episode, Brooke is feeling empowered that she and her company will prevail over her evil mother. Then, of course, a mad man runs in and starts attacking her in the store. Is this some random psycho? My money is on crazy Derek. With a short teaser for next week’s episode I’m left waiting in anticipation for Part 2.

Episode Recap: One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Morning

This week’s episode was another shocker. We’ve come to expect nothing less but it never ceases to amaze me just how quickly things can go from good to bad in the town of Tree Hill. While some relationships were flourishing, other characters faced their darkest times. With that said, let’s discuss!

Lucas and Peyton are certainly in the “newlywed stage.” Giddy like school kids they’re jumping on beds, ignoring life outside of their hotel room, with no care in the world. For one friend life can’t get any better while for the other, it pretty much can’t get any worse. As Peyton is telling Lucas about the wedding she wants, Brooke calls. As the camera pans to Brooke we see her all bruised and beaten up. Instead of telling her best friend what has happened, she ends the conversation. Brooke then calls the one person she has decided to confide in, Deb. When Deb arrives the only thing Brooke can say is “I’m not gonna cry.” She helps to conceal Brooke’s face and urges her to call the police. Brooke won’t oblige and makes her promise not to tell a soul and also asks Deb to teach her how to use a gun.

Speaking of Deb, her and Skillz’s relationship is progressing to the next level and he is seriously falling for her. They almost get busted when Skillz shows up for a morning visit but Hayley is still home. She may be clueless but Jamie isn’t, and he even likes the fact that Uncle Skillz and Nanny Deb have been kissing. Jamie also provides a little foreshadow by mentioning, “And they thought the last nanny was crazy.”

They also haven’t seen the last of crazy Carrie, who’s still torturing Dan. Even I had to look away as she force fed him a thingyroach. Carrie thinks her plan is working brilliantly. She’s been spying on Jamie but in Dan’s car to make Haley concerned that Dan has been showing up lately. But when Dan can finally speak he tells his crazy caretaker that her plan sucks. He reveals that he only has six months to live so when he’s dead and Jamie is still missing, they’ll know someone else must’ve taken him. Even in his worst state, Dan still has the last laugh.

Peyton finally gets home and sees Brooke’s face. At first she makes up a funny story about Lindsay talking crap about Peyton leading to a fist fight but then says that the “truth” is that she was doing laundry and fell face first. Who believes that? Peyton tells Brooke that she and Lucas are engaged and moving in together. “Kinda sudden, hah?” Peyton says. “Are you kidding, the rest of the world has been waiting on you two idiots since high school.” I think that’s how we fans feel as well. It’s clear that Brooke is in a pretty dark place. She wants to be alone, can’t bear to be touched, and won’t tell anyone what happened. She’s looking for justice and with that gun she’s learning to shoot she may just get it.

This week we got to see a truly changed man. Why is it that bad things always happen to the guy who was a jerk but has seen the error of his ways? The relationship that has formed between Quentin and Jamie is absolutely adorable and sweet and I love hearing Jamie rap to Q’s tunes. Not only has Q gone from dropping out to an A+, but he also confesses to Haley that he has a brother Jamie’s age and likes to watch out for them before life gets harder. He even dreams of getting married and raising a family one day. Q is happy to be a part of Nathan’s comeback and Nathan thanks him back for all he’s done. At this point something had to be brewing. Later on that night Q went inside a gas station and out of the corner of his eye, sees someone lying bloody on the floor. At that moment he knew he was in trouble. He turns around and we see a gun shot but it’s only Brooke at the shooting range with Deb. Sadly it didn’t mean he was in the clear. Lucas got a call in the middle of the night and says “Oh My God.” Quentin was shot dead.
