In acts of increasing desperation, Blair sends Jenny's team of models home early and then switches dresses on Serena when Jenny gets Serena and her socialite posse to sub last-minute. Serena contemplates not even walking, but Poppy convinces her to -- hey, if Blair's a real friend, she should SUPPORT Serena's endeavors. Serena accepts Poppy's somewhat weak logic and struts down the runway to the flash of a thousand cameras. Jenny sees it and realizes for the first time what Blair's up against. For a moment, Lil' J and Blair actually bond, and Jenny tells Blair it was always B she wanted to befriend, not S. Blair, for once, is speechless.
The touching moment doesn't last, though -- unbeknownst to her, Serena's wearing a non-Waldorf creation on the runway! Even worse, it's Jenny's design. Thanks to Blair's machinations, the show appears to be ruined. Eleanor is furious... until she finds out Andre Leon Talley and other fashion types are raving about the dress. Looks like Jenny saved the show without even meaning to!
But not everyone's thrilled. Serena confronts Blair backstage about her histrionics and says enough is enough -- she's going to be herself, and if Blair can't deal, then too bad. Blair watches Serena leave with Poppy as the paparazzi click away.
Eleanor proposes a toast to Jenny's success... just as Rufus comes in, livid with his truant daughter. He yells at her, but Jenny, as usual, won't listen -- can't he see this is what she wants? She needs a chance to pursue her dreams! Rufus tries to reason with her about the importance of school, but Jenny, as usual, gets the last word and storms out. Won't Rufus ever learn how to control her?
